Stale enquiry recovery

Not every stale enquiry is dead. Not every one deserves chasing.

LeadRestore helps you separate dormant enquiries that may still justify another conversation from records that should stay closed — so your team can focus on the best opportunities first.

Find unfinished intentLook for quotes, questions, consultations and next steps that stopped without a clear final outcome.
Use context, not just ageOlder can still be interesting when notes or timing show a genuine reason the sale paused.
Avoid generic follow-upReconnect to the original need or unfinished step rather than sending another “just checking in” message.

What makes an enquiry stale?

A stale enquiry is one where the sales conversation is no longer moving. The customer may have stopped replying, the salesperson may have missed the next action, the project may have been delayed or the lead may simply have fallen out of the process.

Stale does not automatically mean recoverable. The useful question is whether the record still contains evidence of unfinished buying intent.

Stronger recovery signalQuote sent, buying question asked, consultation completed, finance discussed, specific timing objection or a clear future follow-up note.
Weaker recovery signalVery little context, obvious rejection, completed purchase elsewhere, unsuitable enquiry or a contact that should not be used again.

How to recover stale enquiries without annoying people.

  1. Start with a focused segment. Do not export everything simply because it is old.
  2. Remove exclusions first. Honour opt-outs, suppression records and anything your business should not contact.
  3. Read the original context. Stage, notes, product, value and reason lost can be more useful than age alone.
  4. Prioritise before writing. Put the strongest opportunities at the top of the list.
  5. Reconnect to the unfinished step. Make the follow-up specific to what the customer previously wanted.
  6. Record a clear outcome. Reopened, progressing, won, lost or do not contact again.

Where LeadRestore fits.

Upload or paste old enquiry data and LeadRestore highlights the records it believes are most worth reviewing. It explains the reasoning and suggests a possible next message for a person to approve or rewrite.

The Free Lost Lead Audit can analyse up to 50 records with no card required. LeadRestore Business is £49/month for larger and repeat recovery scans.

Potential pipeline is based on values in the data or relevant assumptions. It is not a guarantee that any lead will reopen or convert.

Stale enquiry FAQs

How old does an enquiry have to be before it is stale?

There is no fixed number of days. A lead can become stale whenever there is no meaningful next action and the sales conversation stops progressing.

Should I contact every stale enquiry?

No. Prioritisation matters. Some records will be unsuitable, complete, opted out or simply too weak to justify more effort.

Can AI decide who I am allowed to contact?

No. Your business remains responsible for lawful contact, retention rules, suppression and opt-outs. LeadRestore helps with sales prioritisation, not legal permission.
